Madie has always been one of those kids that didn't mind brushing her teeth. I guess it is kind of like taking a bath and going to the bathroom. You do it everyday, you HAVE to do it, so you might as well just do it without any complaints and she does. Recently, I have been talking with Madie about how she is getting older and that it is about time for her to start using "big girl/spitting toothpaste"--the kind of toothpaste that you do not swallow--when discussing this she becomes very emotional and begs to continue to use the "baby toothpaste"--the kind you DO swallow. She has always been very particular about the flavor of toothpaste she uses. She definitely has her likes and dislikes when it comes to flavors so I thought that I would find the flavor of her favorite chewing gum (Orbit Strawberry Mint) and see if she would be interested.
Negative....no interest. As in big elephant tears I don't want to use that no interest. I'm not sure if it is the taste of the toothpaste or the spitting part that bothers her but she wants no part of it. I guess for now we will just keep trying and hope for the best. Maybe by the stime she starts to school we will have moved on to spitting toothpaste. But for now, during teeth brushing time, my Baby wants to stay a baby and I guess that's okay with me.

LOL! I wish they sold sample packs of kids toothpaste. I cannot tell you how many bottles have gone into the garbage because they failed Ry's test trials. Some more than once because she was SURE she hadn't tried them before (and I thought possibly second time would be a charm). I'm keeping my fingers crossed as she seems content at the moment (some kind of Watermelon from Colgate)
