Consignment Gold

Last week was this huge consignment sale that a local church puts on. A friend of mine had told me about it and since I have not gotten rid of one single thing since Madie was born and I am too lazy to have a yard sale I thought that I would put some things in the sale so that I could go and shop early. I had heard that they only accept top of the line items and its a great way to get some really cute things for cheap.

Last Thursday night was our night to shop. I went and met some friends for a quick bite to eat and then off we went to the big sale. It was a total mad house. Lots of eager women trying to get that steal of a deal item. It was my first time at a consignment sale like that so I took my time and looked around to see where everything was. My first find for Madie was the cutest Libby Lou tutu for $4. Then I went to the clothes and found several cute spring outfits. Definitely worth going.

When we decided it was time to go, we went to stand in line. And what a long line it was. We stood in line for over an hour just to check out. While in line, my friend says, "Isn't that a Dorothy costume?" She knows how much Madie loves the Wizard of Oz---and there it was---a Dorothy costume. I ran over to get it thinking something had to be wrong with it but there wasn't. It was in perfect condition and it was only $3. Consignment Gold !! I couldn't believe it. I was going to be the best mom ever if I brought this home. The best $3 I've ever spent.

Madie has hardly had it off her body since I brought it home. Even with a fever virus she says that her Dorothy dress makes her feel better. I must admit, she does look really cute in it. I'll have to post a picture of her in it. She's also started to reenact some of the scenes from the movie. Those preschool drama classes may not be a bad idea after all. And thanks A.R. for the eagle eye and spotting it in all those racks of clothes.

Who Knew Chicken Alfredo and Carrots Were So Wonderful?

Today was one of those days when it got to be time for dinner I still had no idea what I was going to make, so I decided to make Chicken Alfredo---nothing really special-- just a quick easy meal that I know Madie and Hubby both like. I also made Madie some carrots. Again, nothing really special but I have to make sure she has her veggies.

While we are eating Madie looks up at me and says, "Thank you for this wonderful dinner mommy."

She melted my heart.

Maybe I AM doing something right.

Valentine Buddies

Madie and her Buddy went to eat lunch at one of their favorite places for Valentine's Day. They both love Mexican. Nothing says, "Be My Valentine" like a taco!!!!

Aren't they sweet!

There Are Just Some Things You Don't Ask A Lady

Madie and I had dinner with my parents the other night. My Dad asks my Mom if she had done something different to her hair, had she colored it or something. Madie looks at my Dad and says, "Paw-paw, I don't think that's any of your business."

It's a good thing he didn't ask a question about age or weight.
